The American Allies also used them extensively. The M-110 A1 entered service in 1960, but was improved in 1977 to improve its operational efficiency. The M-110 A1 is equipped with a new M201 203mm long-range gun that can use a variety of ammunitions. The M-107 chassis was used for the project, which provided a good balance between firepower and mobility. The M-110 A1 served in the division’s artillery as a general support weapon, counter-battery gun and to suppress enemy positions. It was widely used during the conflict in Lebanon and during the first Gulf war.
