History:

Between the two World Wars, several Military Navy launched programs dedicated to develop fast crafts able to perform patrol and attack duties.New engines and technological solutions were able to guarantee, compared to the First World War torpedo boats, improved performances and better operation efficency.
The German Kriegsmarine developed the famous fast attack craft S-Class during the 1930’s. The S-38 is one of the most popular Schnellboote. It was produced in 100 units and had a length of 35 meters, a full load displacement of more than 100 tons. The S-38’s 12 cylinder Daimler Benz engine allowed it to reach a top speed of 39.5 knots. Two 533 mm were used. It adopted different defensive guns. Bofors gun. The S-100 was developed on the basis of the S-38. On the S-38 reliable tech base, the S-100 was developed some years later
